Biography

Born and raised in Alaska, soprano Patricia Rose is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree of Opera Vocal Performance at Arizona State University, where she studies under Stephanie Weiss. She plans on starting her Artist Diploma at University of Nevada, Las Vegas starting in Fall 2026.

During her time in Arizona, she participated in the 2024-2025 ASU productions of Mutt the MusicalNotes of Viardot as La Malibran, and L’Orfeo. This past summer, she traveled to Graz, Austria, as a Young Artist at the American Institute for Musical Studies (AIMS), performing in many events, including being a Semifinalist at the 2025 AIMS Meistersinger Competition and having an appearance with the AIMS Festival Orchestra singing Micaëla’s aria, “Je dis, que rien ne m’epouvante.” After returning to Arizona, she was casted in ASU’s L’Enfant et les Sortileges as La Bergère, participated in Flight, and was Mary I in QueenE the Musical. She also had the amazing opportunity to sing songs by Florence Price as well as play Suor Dolcina in Suor Angelica for Valley Opera for a fantastic Ladies’ Night!

She earned her Bachelor of Music from University of Alaska Anchorage, studying with David Dunlap. During her Bachelor’s, she placed in many competitions including: 1st place in the NW Regional NATS Auditions Advanced Artist Category (2023); 1st place in the NATS Classical Competition Advanced Aritist Category (2020-2023); 1st place in the NATS Musical Theater Advanced Artist Category (2022); 1st place in the NATS Musical Theater Adult Category (2020); 2nd place in the NATS Musical Theater Adult Category (2019); 3rd place in the NATS Classical Competition Adult Category (2018-2019); 3rd place in the NATS Musical Theater Competition Adult Category (2017-2018); and was a finalist in the NATS Artist Awards Competition that was located in Seattle, Washington (2021; 2023). She has also dipped her toes in the musical theater community playing as Princess Badroulbadour from Disenchanted (2018) and sang in the pit crew for West Side Story (2019). She then performed with the Anchorage Concert Chorus and Anchorage Cabarets and hopes to become more involved in the future. She has also joined the Anchorage Opera Chorus and performed in Pirates of Penzance, Carmen, Elixir of Love, and La Traviata.
